Birthdays a plenty.....

On Saturday, Brad celebrated his 40th birthday. We ordered Chinese food and had the neighbours over for some cake (12 cupcakes and a candle) and drinks. We played Catch Phrase and the kids played in the basement. Brad got an Aurora Greenman (local High school) Football T-shirt, a new watch and some chocolate from the kids. The neighbours brought him an Ohio State T-shirt, a cooler bag and a beer can cover to make him feel the team spirit.

On Sunday, I celebrated my birthday with a later wake up time, some hot tea, a gift card for a 'me' day and a nail care kit. I was spoiled. Later that day, Brad bought a cell phone for me to use. It has been a month since I had a cell phone. It will be great. We then went out for dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings with the kids and watched a bit of the Cleveland and Pittsburgh NFL games on the big screens. At the end of the meal, the waitress brought me a LARGE piece of chocolate cake with ice cream and chocolate sauce. YUMMY!!

Activities have begun....

We have started Gymnastics and Dance in the last week. The girls are in different classes for both activities. Erin is in the High Steppers gym class and a combo ballet and tap class. Brooklyn is in the Hip hop flip flop gym/cheer class and the beginner ballet class for dance. New dance shoes and outfits were required. I think they liked that part the best. Pics to come..

Visitors from Canada

Denise and Logan were here since Monday visiting with us. We had a great week with shopping, lots of outdoor playing and food! The kids loved having Logan and Dee here and are already asking when they are coming back. Hope Uncle Darrell can come next time!

Now that is TIRED....

Tonight Erin feel asleep in the van and agreed to walk into the house. She got up to her bedroom and began talking about putting the stuff away (I think she was sleep talking). She proceeded to walk down the stairs to the first landing and.......laid down and fell asleep. That is really tired.

Brooklyn's new smile - another tooth lost

Brooklyn has now lost a top tooth and is beginning to look a bit like a 'redneck'. Her tooth was VERY loose after school and she played with it all night. In the morning, she woke up and it was gone. We found it in her bed. Now we have lost 6 teeth - 2 in Ohio in a week.

More first day of school pics

Erin and her new friend Tommy.
Brooklyn after school sans the raincoat. Daddy made it home to see her get off the bus.
Everyone had a good day at school. Mommy enjoyed some needed time away from the darlings and cleaned the house.

First Day of School

Today was Brooklyn's first day of school at Craddock Elementary. It was raining when she was waiting for the bus but here are some pics of her and her new friend, Alana.

Labor/Labour Day weekend

In the USA, we spell it Labor and in Canada it is Labour. Not sure I will EVER get used to that.

Grandma and Papa Duguay came to visit for the Labor Day weekend. They arrived on Thursday just before dinner and stayed until Sunday after church. We had a great visit with a few games of cards and cribbage. We had a great lunch out at Doogan's in Aurora (thanks Papa and Grandma).

On Saturday, the Annual Hawthorn Picnic and BBQ was held in our neighbourhood. Everyone brings their own beverages and a side dish. There were 3 HUGE inflatables for the kids to play on. The fun never stopped, probably 100 people there. There was a hula hoop contest and a tug of war. Papa and Grandma even got to meet most of our neighbours. Everyone had a great time.

On Sunday after dropping her ice cream on the ground, Brooklyn pulled out her bottom tooth. This is the fourth bottom tooth to be lost and the first in Ohio. Hopefully the tooth fairy knows we moved!

Peyton's First Day at School

Today was Peyton's first day at Young Explorers School here in Aurora. He is in the Vikings room with a bunch of other kids his age. He got a new Thomas the Tank Engine backpack and Thomas running shoes too! He is going to school from 9-3pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Peyton didn't seem to mind that I was leaving (I think I was more upset). He found a puzzle and away he went! Yeah Peyton!!

The girls will have a couple days to play together and then everyone is off to school.
